What is Robotomail?
Robotomail is managed email infrastructure purpose-built for AI agents. Developers provision mailboxes via API or CLI, and agents send and receive email autonomously. Every mailbox gets a real email address with full send and receive capability — no shared inboxes, no forwarding hacks, no UI required.
Why we built this
AI agents need email. They need to send outreach, respond to inquiries, and manage conversations — just like a human teammate would. But the tools that exist today weren't designed for this. Gmail requires OAuth consent flows that agents can't navigate. Transactional services like SendGrid are built for one-way notifications, not two-way conversations. Most providers explicitly prohibit automated or autonomous usage in their terms of service. There was no way to give an agent its own mailbox, programmatically, in under a minute. So we built one.
How it works
Robotomail is API-first. One POST request creates a mailbox. Another sends an email. Inbound messages arrive via webhooks in real time — no polling required on your end. Under the hood, we run production mail servers with JMAP and SMTP, handle DNS configuration for custom domains (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and store messages and attachments durably. You get the deliverability of a proper mail server without managing one.
