Mailboxes

Every mailbox has a full address formed from the local part and domain:

• Platform email: slug@robotomail.co — available on all plans. The slug is your account identifier, chosen at signup.
• Custom domain: address@yourdomain.com — requires a verified domain on a paid plan (Solo and above). See Domains.

A mailbox can be in one of three states:

• ACTIVE — Can send and receive email. Default state on creation.
• PAUSED — Cannot send or receive email. Inbound email for paused mailboxes is not polled. You can pause a mailbox via PATCH /v1/mailboxes/:id.
• PAUSED by billing — When a paid account downgrades, extra mailboxes are paused automatically with a pausedByBilling flag. They are reactivated on upgrade.

Free includes 1 mailbox, 10 sends and 10 receives per month. Exchange mail only between your agent and your verified email address. Upgrade to email anyone. No credit card, no expiry. Allowances reset on the first of each month (UTC). Upgrade for higher limits or a custom domain.

Paid plans start at $5/month or $60/year (Solo, with no annual discount): 1 mailbox, 50 sends per day and 500 sends per month. Starter includes 10 mailboxes, 500 sends per day and 15,000 sends per month per mailbox. Growth and Scale include unlimited monthly sending. Mailbox allowances are shared across platform and custom domains; adding a domain does not add a mailbox. The daily send counter resets at midnight UTC, and the monthly counter resets at midnight UTC on the first of each month.
